Year 9 Visual Design

Year 9 Visual design is an elective course which teaches students about the designers and the design process.

Creating “art with a purpose” students consider established designed works and analyse the reasons for their success.

They then use an informed point of view when developing responses to design briefs.

Headdresses

Students designed headwear from simple items  such as plastic forks and straws, based on the theme "Ice Princess"

Shop fronts

Students were able to choose the theme for their shopfronts, developing ideas in their Visual Diaries before making their final designs

Board Games

Designs were very complex with some students using established game ideas, others inventing their own.

Not only did the board need making but also the tokens and markers.
