Year 8 Music Media
In Year 8, students can chose to participate in a music elective which focuses on Music technology, Composition and Performance. This year students focused on skills relating to recording and editing sound using Digital Audio Workstations such as GarageBand and Bandlab.
Introducing Me!
In this unit students explored the use of electronic music in hip hop and rap. The major project for this topic was the creation of their own personal rap which was all about them.
For this task students had to write and perform the lyrics and create a backing track using pre-recorded loops and beat sequences.
Advertising and Music
During this topic students analysed how music is chosen to match a target audience, set the mood, describe the product and capture the viewer's attention. The major project for this unit was to have a go at creating a soundtrack that supported the overall message of the advertisement
