Year 11 Visual Arts

Year 11 Visual Arts is the Preliminary HSC course, where students learn to work on their own original works developing a more sophisticated understanding of material and conceptual practice. They also study art theory through case studies and analysis of artworks.

Off to Camp!

Year 11 spent an amazing, immersive 3 days experiencing a range of artmaking workshops at the Arthur Boyd Education Centre known as Bundanon. We were the first school to visit both post Covid and as guests to the new accommodation and learning facilities. Students learnt to take risks, try new techniques and bond as a creative group ready for the challenge of senior studies.

Year 11 started the year by investigating material practice using a range of media and 2D techniques to represent “key”. From pencil to print, stitching, pastel, ink, collagraphs, charcoal students certainly investigated thoroughly with some interesting results.

Creating Conceptual Works

Year 11 continued the year investigating ways to present complex ideas. Many were on display at our annual art exhibition.

National Art School

Two of our students were selected to attend the National Art School Intensive Studio Practice course. Izzy pursued her love of painting and Alice explored ceramics. Both girls successfully completed the course across 2 school holidays and now have extra skills to see them through the HSC
