Year 11 Visual Arts

Year 11 Visual Arts is the Preliminary HSC course, where students learn to work on their own original works developing a more sophisticated understanding of material and conceptual practice. They also study art theory through case studies and analysis of artworks.

Mark Making

As an introduction, students began mark-making to explore the potential of materials, mainly through drawing.
They were encouraged to try new techniques, new media and a variety of surfaces to stretch artistic possibilities and develop skills.

HSC bodies of work require a well-developed concept, so students then explored ways to demonstrate a concept related to “shirts” in whatever media they considered most appropriate for their idea.
