Year 10 Visual Design
Year 10 is the second year of the stage 5 elective course.
Students continued to increase their knowledge and understanding of the design process, responding to set briefs and informed by their understanding of design in the real world.
Jewellery
This year, we started applying the design process to a jewellery range based on a chosen historical era.
Finished pieces were then photographed and an advertisement was made to look like a commercial product.

Editorial Illustration
Returning to 2D forms, students then had the task of designing an editorial article illustration.
Puppets
The next brief was to first create a 2D marionette with articulated limbs. They were created using air-dried clay and strung up to enable a “performance” to take place.
A cool exam
The end of year practical exam saw the students creating signs for an ice cream shop in the space of 45 minutes!!
