Year 9 Visual Design
Year 9 Visual design is an elective course which teaches students about the designers and the design process.
Creating “art with a purpose” students consider established designed works and analyse the reasons for their success.
They then use an informed point of view when developing responses to design briefs.
Year 9 Visual Design students have engaged in creating a variety of design-based works including Harmony Day posters; steampunk style theatrical headwear and accessories; bowl making (online learning from accessible materials); and board game designs.
The students have learned the importance of the design process, undertaking detailed research and preliminary experimentation to create their final product. They also learn about the presentation of their work in digital form or through the creation of advertising posters.
